LASH LIFT
A Lash Lift is a cosmetic treatment that is essentially like a perm for your lashes. Using a chemical solution, the lash lift sets the upward shape of your natural lashes, making them appear fuller and longer. While false eyelashes and lash extensions are always a popular choice when looking for more dramatic results, a lash lift simply gives your natural lashes a little bit of a boost.
The procedure is fairly simple, and takes about 45 minutes in total to account for application, drying, and processing time. Similar to a perm on your hair as well, lash lifts are semi-permanent - meaning that once your new lashes start to grow, the treatment will fade and need to get redone if you wish to keep the lifted effect.
-
A lash lift starts with a silicone shield placed on the eyelid that your lashes will adhere to using a non-toxic glue. Next, a solution is applied to the root of the lashes and is left on for several minutes. This solution bonds to the hair and acts as a softener to make lashes moldable. After that, a setting solution is applied and processes for another several minutes. This solution essentially ‘hardens’ everything back up and restructures the bond of the lashes, essentially locking in the curled shape.
-
In general, a lash lift can last around 4 to 6 weeks, but this can vary depending on your lashes. With proper care, you may be able to extend the life of your lash lift to 6 weeks.
-
It’s best to avoid any type of moisture to your lashes for at least 24 hours following your lash lift treatment as lashes are returning to a normal pH level. Water, mascara, etc. can weigh down the lashes and compromise the lift that was set via the chemical change from your treatment.
Similar to getting your hair done at the salon, you wouldn’t want your hair to get rained on right after leaving as it would cause the hair to go flat - water would have a similar effect to your newly lifted eyelashes.
-
We advise waiting 24-48 hours before using mascara after a lash lift treatment. This waiting period allows the lifted lashes to fully set in their new position, ensuring longevity. Applying mascara too soon can disrupt the setting process and potentially reverse the lift.
-
While it’s not common, it doesn’t mean that a reaction can’t happen. We will gladly administer a patch test using the lash lift solutions on a small spot of skin to ensure there is no subsequent irritation such as redness, itching, or inflammation.
-
PRE-TREATMENT
No caffeine 2-3 hours before treatment.
Do not put on mascara. Removing mascara can be very time-consuming and any residual makeup will prevent proper processing of the lifting solution.
Please let us know in advance if you would like a patch test done so we can schedule an appropriate amount of time.
POST-TREATMENT
Be gentle with your lashes - no rubbing or pulling.
Do not get lashes wet for the first 24 hours.
Do not use harsh products on your eyes or lashes.
Sauna heat or steam is possible after the first 24 hours following treatment, but may weaken the effect of the lift.
No mascara for 24-48 hours following treatment.
Avoid waterproof mascara.
LASH LIFT + TINT
The Lash Lift + Tint treatment at Lush Beauty Studio is just as it sounds - the exact same process as our original lash lift, with the added benefit of a tint to make lashes appear fuller and darker! An eyelash tint can be performed on its own; however, it pairs perfectly and is most commonly performed in conjunction with the lash lift. The tint can last up to 4 weeks, or until lashes naturally fall out.
Please refer to the Lash Lift FAQ drop-down above for more information.
BROW TINT
A Brow Tint is a great place to start if you have never had any type of brow treatment before. Brow tints come in a variety of shades and is designed to tint the brow hairs, but not the skin underneath the hair. The tint will gradually fade out of brow hairs and can last around 2 to 4 weeks. You can opt for a darker tint for a more dramatic look or go with a lighter tint for a more natural look.
-
Brow tinting only takes approximately 10-15 minutes depending on the hair type. The skin around your eyebrows shouldn’t be affected, but if there is any residual tint on the skin - don’t worry! This will wash away over the next day or so.
-
On average, a brow tint can last anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks depending on a few factors. Hair growth, time spent in the sun, and how much you wash your face can all factor in to how long your brow tint will last. It will start to gradually fade over the weeks until you’re ready for your next treatment!
-
Unless you have an allergy to any of the ingredients in a typical hair dye, eyebrow tinting works for pretty much anyone! We have a variety of color options at Lush Beauty Studio that we can match to your specific hair color and we can always perform a patch test beforehand as well.
